Audioconferencing (AC) differs from Videoconferencing (VC) because of the utilization of the webcam. In regard to that, online synchronous interaction through AC and VC may affect learning in different ways. Through research results about this issue, this article presents possible pros and cons for the use of the webcam. Results point to benefits of AC, not eliminating, however, the importance of the webcam if used with awareness.
