Identificando citações em 1 Coríntios 11:3-16: uma análise da orientação argumentativa e do ponto de vista / Identifying Quotations in 1 Corinthians 11:3-16: An Analysis of Argumentative Orientation and Point of View

Abstract

Resumo: Neste artigo, propomo-nos a verificar, numa perspectiva linguística, a ocorrência de citações na passagem de 1 Coríntios 11:3-16, que trata do uso de véu pelas mulheres em assembleias religiosas. Para tanto, apresentamos uma análise da orientação argumentativa e do ponto de vista (PdV) apoiando-nos no instrumental teórico-metodológico da Análise Textual do Discurso (ATD), do Modelo de Tradições Discursivas e da Semântica Argumentativa. Articulando tais abordagens, identificamos, numa primeira etapa, a orientação argumentativa das proposições-enunciados e demonstramos, na segunda, a existência de PdVs antagônicos: o PdV-Paulino e o PdV-Coríntio, refutado pelo apóstolo. Os resultados corroboram a ocorrência dos versos 4 a 9 como citações não endossadas pelo apóstolo no fragmento em apreço.

Abstract: In this article, we aim to verify, from a linguistic perspective, the occurrence of quotations in 1 Corinthians 11:3-16, which deals with the use of veils by women in religious assemblies. For this purpose, we present an analysis of argumentative orientation and point of view (PdV) based on theoretical-methodological instruments of Textual Discourse Analysis (ATD), Discourse Traditions Model and Argumentative Semantics. Articulating such approaches, we identify, in a first step, the argumentative orientation of propositions-statements and demonstrate, in the second, the existence of antagonistic points of view: the Pauline-PdV and the Corinthian-PdV, refuted by the apostle. The results corroborate the occurrence of verses 4 to 9 as quotations not endorsed by the apostle in the fragment in question.
